Who We Are
Fresh Mark has grown from its roots as a regional meat provider in Northeast Ohio to a nationwide supplier of bacon, ham, hot dogs, pepperoni and salami, sliced meats and other specialty meat items. Fresh Mark customers have come to rely on the quality and consistency of our Sugardale and Superior’s Brand Meats lines.
Founded in the early 1920s and 30s, Sugardale and Superior’s paved their own separate paths just miles apart in Canton and Massillon, Ohio. Both companies experienced decades of operational growth and community recognition. Superior’s acquired Sugardale in the late 1970s, uniting both brands under the Fresh Mark umbrella.
As a proud, family-owned company, Fresh Mark honors our history with our legacy recipes, traditions and good business practices. We offer tailored solutions for our partners, customers and consumers across the retail and food service industries. Personal relationships are the core of our business and the way we nurture those relationships continues to be our company’s best-known hallmark.
Our meats have always been 100% made in the U.S.A. We recently celebrated Sugardale’s 100th anniversary, and today, you can find the Sugardale label in all 50 states and more than 20 countries.

The Fresh Mark Employees’ Civic Fund
Our team members are united in making a positive change through the Fresh Mark Employees’ Civic Fund. For more than 60 years, the mission of the civic fund has been to assist programs addressing social issues in our communities.

We are committed to always making top-quality meats with the best ingredients. That's why we slow cook and smoke our meats to achieve the flavor you want and love. We make everything in the U.S.A., just like it has been since we opened our doors more than a century ago.
All our products are gluten-free and free of the Big-8 allergenic foods, including milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat and soybeans.
From thick to extra thick, lower sodium to uncured and everything in between–our delicious bacon lineup has something for everyone. Our state-of-the-art facility produces bacon strips and pieces of all varieties, including raw, pre-cooked or fully cooked. Each package is smoked with natural hickory hardwood and features the perfect balance of sweet and savory that makes our bacon a family favorite.
Hams are a hit, no matter the occasion. And we should know—we’ve been sugar-curing and smoking hams with natural hickory hardwood since the very beginning. We’re proud to offer fully cooked bone-in and boneless ham varieties for a quick and easy weeknight dinner or a holiday celebration.
Our pepperoni and salami are the perfect complements to any pizza, salad, sandwich or charcuterie board. We hang our pepperoni and salami to dry and handcraft them the old-fashioned Sugardale way—so you’ll always taste just the right amount of salt and spice.
Our hot dogs have been synonymous with good times and great taste for over 100 years. Whether you like yours all-beef, uncured or prefer another fan favorite from the rest of the lineup, Sugardale hot dogs put the fun back into the bun.

Each location remains committed to the highest personal safety and quality standards.
